Syleena Johnson is a Grammy-nominated R&B and soul singer-songwriter, mother, author, health and fitness advocate, talk show host, and content creator. The daughter of legendary Soul/Blues singer, Syl Johnson, Syleena has used her voice throughout her career to not only entertain, but to inspire and empower women everywhere.
In 2001, Syleena exploded onto the R&B scene with her major-label debut album, “Chapter 1: Love, Pain & Forgiveness”. Her follow-up, “Chapter 2: The Voice”, which featured guests such as Busta Rhymes, yielded the hit “Guess What” and was hailed as one of the best R&B albums of the year. From her next album onwards (“Chapter 3: The Flesh”), Syleena proceeded to collaborate with other top artists, such as Kanye West, Anthony Hamilton, and Common. In recent years, she has expanded her presence from the stage to the screen — appearing on TV shows R&B Divas: Atlanta and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and serving as host of daytime talk show Sister Circle on TV One. Amidst a life-changing weight loss, Selena wrote a self-help book titled The Weight is Over where she shares her compelling and painful journey toward self-love and discovery. In 2020, Syleena dropped her highly-anticipated album “Woman” that features the hit single with the same name.
Syleena can be seen on Fox Soul’s Cocktails with the Queens with Vivica A. Fox, LisaRaye McCoy, and Claudia Jordan, which airs every Monday night at 5:00pm PT / 8:00pm ET.
